A Symposium challenging the traditional views of Muslim women in sports

Shirzanan: Sultan Qaboos University organized a symposium on Sport and Physical Education for Muslim Women in which 17 international researchers will talk about the issues concerning women’s sports. The conference began on February 11th in Oman and it will last for a week. Women sports study week at SQU is a report by Oman Tribune on this symposium. Iran women’s bowling team left Iran for the International Bowling Championship in Malaysia

Shirzanan: Shabnam Shakorian/translation by Roja Najafi: Iran women’s bowling team left Iran for the international bowling championship in Malaysia. After long years of waiting, the International Deployment Committee of the Athletic Education Organization finally issued the deployment permission for women’s bowling team. This decision made Iran women’s bowling team the 44th athletic team that have been allowed to compete in international competitions outside Iran. Women’s blowing team in Iran lacks professional coaches and proper bowling alleys. It seems by sending women’s bowling team abroad the authorities are determined to improve the poor situation of bowling in Iran.
