Shirzanan: After 15 days of online voting in Shirzanan website and with 242 votes Shirzanan has the results. Among five of the best women athletes: Leila Ebrahimi with 98 votes and 40.5 percent of the votes became first; followed by Sarah Khoshjamal Fekri 85 votes, Marjan Kalhor 34 votes, Mina Amini 13, and Raziye Tahmasbi 12 votes.

Shirzanan: Women’s sitting volleyball team has 14 players.

Shirzanan: From the beginning of April, women have to have a health certificate in order to being able to use public swimming pools. It is said that this new regulation is to prevent Aids and epidemic diesis like yeast infection. Most of public pools are shared between men and women, in different hours. But the regulation is only for women.

Shirzanan: For the fist time Iran women’s rowing team will attend the Olympic qualification games in May. They are practicing very hard. The head coach women’s canoe polo team said that this team would go for the world championship with our any preparatory camp or competitions.

Shirzanan: Although women’s national football team was eliminated from the Women’s football Asian Cup, Iran football player said to shirzanan that the players performed their best games in these matches.

....... Although we got eliminated, I am satisfied with our progress and results. I am proud to have a team so determined and devoted to their goals. It is not fair to say that we didn’t pass to the nest level because our team did not work well, since they tried very hard; they did more than what we expected.

2008 AFC Women’s Asian Cup was a good practice for our team; we had three football matches. In all of them we observed lots of changes in our players. In primaries we did not have strong competitors, so we could not weigh up our level with those games. We tried to avoid repeating our mistakes. Before our match with Vietnam, we have not distinguished between our main players and our reserved players; we just made our main team before our first game.

I believe Vietnam is the strongest team in these games. If our match against Vietnam were not our first match of the qualifications, perhaps we would do better. We won from Chinese Taipei 3 to 2; we had assumed that would be our hardest game. But now we should start planning for 2010 Guangju Asian games.

We cannot ignore the achievements of Iran women’s national Karate team in Morocco, especially considering their Islamic outfits. The deputy manager of Karate federation explained that they had many talks with Asian karate federation about Iran’s Islamic athletic outfit and their talks were positive. So women’s karate team can participate in next year Malaysia Asian competitions with their Islamic clothing.
