Shirzanan:Elaheh Habibi: Today when I turned the TV on, I was kind of shock to see that instead of the well-known male host, guests and reporters of a famous sports program, Varzesh va Mardom (People and Sports), some sportswomen and some female sports officials were seating. This People and Sports program was a special edition celebration the birthday of, Fatima Zahra, the daughter of Prophet of Islam, Mohammad; her birthday is widely celebrated in Iran as the national women’s day

Sarah Khoshjamal Fekri is going to Olympics 2008

Shirzanan: Shabnam Shakourian /translated by Roja Najafi: After many weeks we finally know that Sara Khoshjamal will represent Iran women’s taekwondo in the Olympics 2008. The third qualification match between her and Fatemeh Nematie, like the two other matches, resulted in Sara’s victory over Fatemeh. At the same time Nematie had lots of motivation to win the national qualification match; she was a head in the first round and in the second round there was a 1-1 tie, but in the golden time Sara got the wining point and finished the match victoriously.

Before the match and during men’s competitions, Nematie who was practicing became the target of media attention, and after the match she was watching Sara’s interviews, told Shirzanan, “ unfortunately I could not win this match. I tried and as you saw it was in the golden time that my injured foot and some other problems prevented me from wining.” She continued, “ wining Olympics medal is very difficult and I hope Sara can be a deserving candidate for our country and if the God wants she will win the Olympics medal.”
