How Does It Feel

Shirzanan- translated by Roja Najafi: Three Iranian women could find their way to the Azady Stadium for Iran North Korea soccer match. How does it feel to be in a stadium where women are not allowed in to watch men’s games? Two of these girls contacted Shirzanan with their stories. Let them tell us their exciting tale!

Arefeh Elyassi: Every national soccer game is a sparkle of hope for White Scarf girls. We hope that maybe this game will be the one they let us in. We thought a lot on how to get into the stadium for Iran-North Korea match, finally we came up with this idea that we should contact Korean women and let them know who we are and what we want.

The 18th international track and field Fajr competition

Track and Field celebrity athletes in Iran

Shirzanan: The eighteenth international Fajr competition in track and field were held in Iran on February 11th and 12th, 2009. In women’s track and field Sanateh Naft-e Abadan team (Abadan Oil Industry) triumphed and became the champion. These competitions were held in the Aftab Enghlab stadium in Tehran with participation of 7 international and 8 national teams. The 15 teams participated in 40 branches and Iran’s track and field federation stated that due to the number of competitions the amount of the grand prize was reduced.

Despite the participation of the huge number of the worldly known track and field athletes, the prize amount was higher compared to the previous years. The medalists in the 18th Track and Field Fajr competition won $ 300 for Gold medal, $ 200 for Silver and $100 for Bronze. The Rial equivalent of this amount was presented to the winners.

The famous athletics celebrities who competed in Fajr competition this year were Ruqaya Al Ghasra, Roman Valiuf from Kazakhstan, Constantin Safranouf , Fuzy al-shemary from Kuwait.
