On Friday, the Volleyball team left Tehran for Bangkok with its 12 players. In the first round of this tournament Iran is group-mate with New Zealand, Taiwan and Kazakhstan. Before leaving for Bangkok, Fathee, Iran’s head coach, told Shirzanan that the team is in a good physical condition and we decreased our practices from twice a day to once a day. She assured Shirzanan that we are in the spirit of the games and the only possible obstacle for us is that we did not have enough preparatory matches.

Fathee continued that in the technical level we are in good shape and our players know strategies very well and I approve their abilities in reading the opponent’s strategies; they are good at it. But since we have a little experience in international fields we don’t know where we stand compare to international standards.

Fathee explained that Because of our Islamic outfits and since the players needed to get used to this clothing we managed to do our practices while wearing those clothes. Hoever the first days of practices with these outfits were harder little by little they got used to them.

Parichehr Ghafari, team the technical trainer, said that her only worry is the teams low pace. She explained that Speed is the key factor in the result of the game and our volleyballists have an noticeable difficulty in that area. This can be our only problem in these games. Other than that we are in a good shape and we should keep our hops up.
