I left Atlético Madrid to play in Iran

Shirzanan:Translated by Roja Najafi: We playing an absolutely professional football in Iran. And that’s why I have always loved to play football in Iran. I’ve lived in the United States for 16 years and since I have always wanted to play football in Iran, I did not accept the invitation of US national soccer team. After that I went to Spain in order to continuo my education. While I was studying chemical engineering in San Louis University I played in Atlético Madrid. I was there for a year. During that time I came to Iran for a visit and I loved it here. I told my father that I would like to come and live in Iran and he welcomed this idea.

The construction for building a 40,000-seat stadium for women has started

Aliabadi: In some athletic federations we don’t have equality between men and women

Shirzanan:Reza Shiri/Transleted by Roja Najafi:At last and after a long time of yearning the construction for a 40 thousand-seat stadium allocated to women’s sport has officially started. In the official ceremony held for the beginning of this construction Aliabadi, the head of Physical Education Organization promised that they plan to build about 500 more athletic facilities up to the end of the ninth presidential administration. Aliabadi added: “The distribution of 30 percent credit from all athletic federations to women’s sport is one of the most important steps we have taken in the past couple of years.” Aliabadi explained, “ Perhaps in some athletic federations we don’t have equality between men and women. But overall women’s sport is improved and it is satisfactory. As you see, very quickly we won medals in many athletic fields in Asia.”
